I've never left a Kindle book review but: THIS IS THE WORST BOOK I'VE EVER READ and I have 1000 paper books and 1500 on my Kindle! The 5 star ratings have to be the author's friends and family. Seems to have been written by a young person who's watched too many disaster movies. Why does every main character have some awful past. New captain has a terrible secret that sent his mom to prison for 25 years? The woman stuck in an elevator is a former child kidnap victim? The author insists on writing one character's words (and thoughts) in some godawful dialect that I think is supposed to be hick southern/Cajun (I'm from the South and it's offensive, not because it's hick but because it's written so badly. A plane hits the ship unintentionally in the middle of the Pacific Ocean?!?! I hope the author does better in the future. A cruise ship with a EMP strike. All power is cut out, cell phones do not have any signals. An airplane that lost power, crashes into the ship. The ships' captain has an apparent heart attack and dies. The second in command, Gunner, is put into the captain's position. A number of story lines keep you wanting to read. This is a page turning thriller that ends too soon and leaves you wanting more. A cliff hanger that makes you want the next installment.
